Here is a list of rules presented by Bill Gates at a high school in the US .

It is an excerpt from the book “Dumbing Down our Kids” by educator Charles Sykes.

Although it is aimed at children there are many reminder lessons for all of us no matter our age.

What we mean by happiness or subjective wellbeing is people’s evaluations of their life; how they feel about it and how they appraise it. … One way is to just sit back and think about life and wonder is my life as it should be – that is life satisfaction.

Happiness is caused by relationships, goals and habits –and not by lots of money.

Life is, to many people, mysterious and even miraculous. For us all, existence comes to an end proverbially rapidly. Linking us all in the face of certain death and inevitable misfortune is the desire, and arguably the need, to be happy. Happiness is a notion we all grasp, but one that can be hard to define. It is a state that can be elusive – and then devilishly difficult to maintain. It is hugely important to the quality of our brief existence, and for many is central to the very purpose and meaning of life. Feeling Overwhelmed

Difficult situations are opportunities to be our best selves, hone our skills and rise to the occasion.

Sometimes we may feel like there is just too much we need to do. Feeling overwhelmed may make it seem like the universe is picking on us, but the opposite is true: we are only given what we can handle. Difficult situations are opportunities to be our best selves, hone our skills and rise to the occasion.

The best place to start is to take a deep breath. As you do, remind yourself that the universe works in perfect order and therefore you can get everything done that needs to get done. As you exhale, release all the details that you have no control over. The universe with it‘s infinite organizing power will orchestrate the right outcome. Anytime stress begins to creep up, remember to breathe through it with these thoughts.

Most people are very reluctant to change even though they know they should. If you think severe heart disease is a critical enough trigger to make people change, it rarely is

Naturally the majority of people would say “yes”, but would you? Of the people that have serious heart bypass surgery every year, in around half of cases the bypass grafts have clogged up again within 5 years. Many of these people could have avoided a return of their heart problems and further surgery by switching to a healthier lifestyle. Even after this massively invasive and expensive surgery, 90% of people do not change their lifestyle.
