It is important to regularly stop and spend ½ a day or even a full day, away from distractions to take a stock-take of your life and work out ‘where you are’ in your life and “where you want to go” in your life. Although many people stop and make New Year resolutions, it is not necessary to do this once a year on New Year’s Eve. It can be done anytime and it is beneficial to do it a couple of times a year.

 

It is like trying to drive from one point to another along a route that you have never traveled before. The first thing most people do is consult a map to work out where they want to go and the fastest and most efficient way to get there. Living your life in a deliberate way and achieving your goals is exactly the same. When you have a map, you are much more likely to get to where you want to go and to do this you need to know where you are now.

This is very entertaining but also appears to relatively accurate.

As with everything the more you understand the more you are able to understand why people react in particular ways. When you understand some of the differences between men and women and how they think and react you will be more likely to understand their reactions.

All features and behaviours of men’s and women’s brains follow bell curves and there is a percentage of overlap so naturally there are some women who will think and behave more like men and some men that will think and behave more like women so everything is a generalisation, however a bell curve shows the way a majority of people will behave in a certain way.

When you understand that men and women and indeed all people will think in things in different ways then you are more likely to make allowances for people that think differently to yourself. This understanding is what will help you in your relationships, both with members of the opposite sex and those of your own sex.

and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it
with rocks, about 2 inches in diameter.

He then asked the students if the jar was full.
They agreed that it was.

So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles
and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly.
The pebbles, of course, rolled into the open areas

Most people are very reluctant to change even though they know they should. If you think severe heart disease is a critical enough trigger to make people change, it rarely is

If you were given the choice “change your behaviour or die”, would you change?

 

Naturally the majority of people would say “yes”, but would you? Of the people that have serious heart bypass surgery every year, in around half of cases the bypass grafts have clogged up again within 5 years. Many of these people could have avoided a return of their heart problems and further surgery by switching to a healthier lifestyle. Even after this massively invasive and expensive surgery, 90% of people do not change their lifestyle.
