to highlight the importance of a Container Deposit Legislation Scheme in Victoria, AFROCAB held a bottle boat launch at AuraVale lake.

To celebrate World Environment day and to highlight the importance of introducing a Container Deposit Legislation Scheme into Victoria, on behalf of AFROCAB, a number of people from Emerald and surrounding suburbs launched a boat made up completely of plastic bottles collected from roadsides and other public places. Sustainable House Day

A major feature being orientation on the block which had the living areas facing the north so that heat gain during the day would be maximised to avoid artificial heating.

On Sunday 6th November several members of DRREA (Dandenong Ranges Renewable Energy Association) and EMFSUS (Emerald for Sustainability) visited several houses to view various sustainable features that people have incorporate dinto their houses.

10-10-10 International Day of Climate Action in Emerald, Australia

On Sunday 10/10/2010 I attended a tree planting with Johns Hill Landcare Group and Emerald for Sustainability (EmFSus) in planting 350 trees at Pepi”s Land in Emerald, Victoria, Australia. This event was part of the 350.org National Day of Action and was mirrored by other people all over the world.

On Sunday 10/10/2010 I attended a tree planting with Johns Hill Landcare 350 trees planted, Emerald, VIC AustraliaGroup and Emerald for Sustainability (EmFSus) in planting 350 trees at Pepi”s Land in Emerald, Victoria, Australia. This event was part of the 350.org National Day of Action and was mirrored by other people all over the world.

Following on from the educational “350 day” in 2009 this year’s “Global work party” called for “real, tangible work” in 2010. It was heartening to see so many people unite, from all over the globe, and rise to the challenge and give their day to send a message to their political leaders that, people all over the world are speaking out for the environment. Future Sparks comes to Emerald

On Saturday 10th April 2010 the inspirational new “Future Sparks” trailer came to Emerald where a number of different community groups and members of the local community competed to see who could produce the most amount of power using their own energy.
