How’s the exploration of your life balancing going?
Have you been to our website http://wheeloflifebook.com and worked through the interactive wheel of life or done it manually starting from page 11 on “The Wheel of Life’s 8 Keys to Success” Book?
If so you will have an idea of what areas of your life you need to concentrate on. When you have a visual representation of how the different areas of your life interact it can become extremely clear what areas you need to work on and what areas you need to spend less time on.
If your wheel is extremely unbalanced and you have high values in one or more areas and low values in others it is clear where you need to concentrate on. However, this type of wheel can also be one of the hardest to work with.
When you have very high and very low areas you are probably avoiding areas you find difficult to deal with and spending a lot of time on areas you find comparatively easier. You may even be aware that areas of your life are lacking but without seeing the visual way all areas interact you may not have realized how important balance is.
Often, when people come into our clinic with back or joint pains they don’t associate them with problems in their relationships or a lack of money. Most people tend to accept pain as having a physical origin and not as a result of stress, whether it is acknowledged or not.
It is quite common for people with back pain to feel like they are carrying “a great load on their shoulders”. Your spine represents your support centre of your life. When you are feeling unsupported you often feel it in your back. In fact, depending on where your back problems are can give you a clue on where you need to start working towards balancing your life.
- Lower back problems can point towards problems with money and feeling a lack of financial support
- Middle back problems can point towards problems with guilt and reliving past problems
- Upper back problems can point towards problems with emotions and feeling a lack of emotional support
When you understand and acknowledge the emotional components of back pain you can start to work towards fixing it, on a permanent basis and not just going to a massage therapist or chiropractor for a realignment or even worse to a doctor for pain relief medication.
When you accept the relationship between back pain and being unbalanced in one or more areas of your life it is easier to understand what you need to do to fix your physical symptoms permanently.
- If you have pain in your lower back, or in your hips or the outsides of your thighs you may need to look at your financial situation and work towards improving your finances. You may need to work through Chapter 6: Wealth and Finances of “The Wheel of Life’s 8 Keys to Success” Book for some suggestions on ways to start improving your finances and improving your wealth.
- If you have pain in your middle back, you need to look at the positive aspects of your life and concentrate on having fun and helping others. You may need to work through Chapter 6: Lifestyle and Fun or Chapter 7: Spirituality and Giving of “The Wheel of Life’s 8 Keys to Success” Book for suggestions on balancing these areas of your life.
- If you have pain in your upper back, you may need to look at your emotional support situation and work towards improving your relationships. You may need to work through Chapter 1: Relationships and Family of “The Wheel of Life’s 8 Keys to Success” Book
When you recognize the areas of your life you may feel like the effort to work on balancing these areas is just too much work, however the benefits to be experienced by working at balancing your life are well worth the effort. Remember being perfect is not necessary. It is the progress you make that is important.
You have to be able to understand the underlying problem before you can take appropriate steps to fix it!
